What to see in Stockholm
Stockholm is a city with a lot of charm. The Old Town (Gamla stan) also called the "town between the bridges" is from the 13th century. Here you can walk around in medieval alleyways and a must to visit Stortorget, the large square in the centre, where around 100 people noblemen and clergies were beheaded in 1520 by the Danish King
Christian II. The square is surrounded by old merchant´s houses and here you also find the Stockholm stock exchange.
Every Wednesday and Saturday at 12.00 and Sundays at 13.00 the Royal Guard is marching with a military orchestra in the front through Stockholm city to change the guard with pomp and circumstances at the Royal Palace. In the summer the Royal Horse Guard is in charge of the performance. Around the clock 45 armed guard are protecting the castle.
Lying on fourteen islands and with an archipelago containing thousands of islands some of them with archipelago accommodations and archipelago restaurants; it’s easy to understand why so many people visit Stockholm over and over again.
